This review solely pertains to private dance lessons.
My partner and I are getting married in the end of March and wanted to have a choreographed dance for our "Wedding Dance". We did not have any prior experience with any sort of formal dance lessons. We bought the "$99 Wedding Special" which included 2 private lessons, 2 group lessons, and a practice gathering...??? to see if this was even what we really wanted to do for our wedding.
Jonathan and Angela were VERY NICE AND WELCOMING.
In our initial "2 private lessons", I felt very rushed and pressured to purchase the expensive, additional "Special Private Lessons" for our choreographed wedding dance (sensation of being at a used car sales lot). Our "private lessons" weren't very private for we shared the entire dance studio with other "one on one" dance sessions with other instructors and students.
I followed my gut feeling and researched other dance studios. Come to find out, most dance studios include your 1st session for free to see if it's something you would even want to try out, sort of get a feel for the dance hall and the dance instructor that you would be working one on one with. I found a dance studio and instructor who takes her time with us until we feel comfortable with the dance steps/routine before we progress to the next set of dance moves. She even goes above and beyond in counting the steps and rhythms on the song track that we have chosen to use and explains to us in full detail the precise movements and proper forms that we should have. We even get the entire studio to ourselves and her full attention on only us. And an added bonus is that she is AFFORDABLE on top of our other wedding expenses. We didn't get anything remotely close to that at Arthur Murray's.
