  • I had a great time at this place! For any visiting jazz fans from Philadelphia, Upstairs reminds me a lot of what Ortlieb's Jazzhaus used to be like before it closed and turned into Ortlieb's Lounge. Malika Tirolien and her band gave an excellent performance, and it was overall just a perfect evening. We were there on a rainy Thursday night and showed up pretty early for the performance, so there were still some tables available... However, the space is kind of tight, so I think we just got lucky and you would need a reservation most nights. All in all, it was one of my favorite places in Montreal, and I will definitely be back the next time I'm in town!
