  • I went to this hospital because of an emergency. It was the closest hospital and I was in labor/transition and baby's heart rate dropped. I was admitted quickly and greeted by Dr. Bass. I was given a short trial to push in the OR and when heart rate remained low it was decided that I would need a C-section. All of the staff were incredibly calm. A C-section was my biggest fear in life but the staff made me feel comfortable the ENTIRE time . I asked to not see anything, and didn't want to hear what they were doing and they were very accommodating in that realm. The anesthesiologist made me feel calm, he placed an epidural quickly. In other hospitals I'm sure they wouldn't have allowed an epidural and would have opted for general anesthesia. I was able to receive skin to skin after baby was checked. Both Dr. Bass and the anesthesiologist waited with me in recovery. Dr. Bass visited me every day after the delivery. He and his nursing staff in the OR gets FIVE stars. The one star off is actually for one of the night nurses who kept entering the room every two hours to do something. I'm not sure why she couldn't take vitals, pass meds, and check the baby all at the same time. She kept wanting to talk about how much to feed the baby at 3AM and was loud, letting the door slam etc. every time she came in turning on all the lights. The other night nurses didn't do that. All the other nurses were great even though I probably wasn't the best patient. The lactation consultant there was also phenomenal. All in all a great experience for my first time being admitted to a hospital. I would deliver here again if my insurance would cover it.
