  • This is my third review of Hana, and it just keeps getting better and better. The food at Hana is top notch. From the appetizers to the sushi, to the kitchen specials, every single dish at Hana is carefully made and thought out. We always start out with the poki chips which I am honestly obsessed with. It is a simple dish made up of green onions, cucumber, imitation crab and mildy spicy seasoning (Shichimi Togarashi) served with fried wonton chips. Theres something about this dish that leaves you wanting more. If you sit at the bar, they give you a small complimentary dish. The calamari (ika kara age) is also a simple dish, which does not come with a dipping sauce. There's really no need as the breading is tasty and crispy - the side of lemons should suffice. The seaweed salad is great, and has a lot of depth. For the kitchen specials, you can't go wrong with the salmon dish which I usually get with teriyaki sauce. It's delicious and the salmon is cooked perfectly. One of my favorite dishes is the gyudon nabe. This is the best gyudon I've ever had. I'm not used to gyudon coming in an almost sukiyaki-like dish with the broth and all but I enjoyed this one a lot. I believe they use ribeye for the meat which they marinate. The meat is fatty, tasty and tender. The broth is absolutely amazing. Everything about this dish is perfect. It comes with a side of rice. Ive had the hamachi kama and the zaruten soba which have both been excellent. As far as the ramen goes, I'm not a huge fan. This is the only dish that I think has some room for improvement. The fish at Hana is always fresh. I'm fairly simple and just always go with the spicy salmon roll/ hand roll. I love that they use whole chunks of salmon. My only complaint is the lack of consistency. Spicy salmon roll is not on their menu and everytime I order it, I get a different dish. Sometimes they top it with green onions and include cucumber in the roll and sometimes it's just plain salmon. It's good regardless but pretty inconsistent. The service is good most of the time but it can get inconsistent as well. I do sometimes feel like I'm being rushed when I'm dining. Hana is definitely overpriced and prepare to spend more than your budget. However, the food is absolutely SPECTACULAR. Hana is definitely one of the top restaurants on my list.
