| - I practiced here for over 2 years. Excellent dojo! I recommend for all ages and levels of proficiencly.
Ive practiced in 5 different dojos over the years. Recently I met a man and we discussed our affiity for the arts. He invited me to the open door Friday night sparring session. I was hooked immediately. You can go real time with control without fear of getting hurt.
There is a great kids program, one of the largest in the area. Summer camp all day and tournaments. Great for the kids.
As far as style goes, this is where I get particular. Though roots are important, I dont really want to go to a place that is plagued by tradition. Sensei teaches traditional martial arts, and supplaments tradition with jiu jitsu, boxing, fitness classes, weapons etc.
The style is a natural fighting style. No long deep stances that look great when doing kata but dont work in a real fight. You practice movements that you can actually apply in todays world.
The sparring classes are outstanding. There are great fighters with different backgronds, some boxing, some kenpo, some traditional karate, descendants of Trias, some with Korean style backgrounds. You will get a variety at this place and lots of comradery. You will also get in better shape.
I highly recommend this dojo.
