| - I normally go to Koreatown for my cuts but yesterday I went here, wanting to trust my hair to the much raved Seefu experience. Big mistake.
I'm a no-fuss, polite customer. I smile a lot, say thank you and sorry, but most of the time I'm quiet on the chair. My only bad habit is my uneasiness with electric razors.
All I wanted was a pixie cut. I had two reference pictures. The stylist somehow managed to get both pictures wrong and make my front much shorter than I expected. The back is a strange fluffy texture.
Still, I'm not an asshole. Hair grows, I don't really care as long as I look presentable and am treated well.
Steadily, my stylist became more and more irritated throughout the cut. At the very end, he didn't even smile -- he just scowled at me and his work, as if somehow I disappointed him. He styled my hair, showed me the look, and told me how to style it. The atmosphere became clear that he wanted me to leave soon as possible.
And leave I did, without knowing what the hell I had done to make him look so contemptuously and act so cold towards me.
Hence my poor review. My simple criteria for a good salon was not met.
I had paid prior to the haircut, 40 dollars + 10% tip. I regret the latter.
Adding a star for the pre-cut service. The complimentary shoulder massage was lovely and so was the shampoo from the washing girl. As well, they have lockers for your things -- quite reassuring. Other than that, would never visit this salon again. I'm heading back to Koreatown.
(For reference, I am asian with medium-thick asian hair. So it's not as if he was encountering some newtangled beast.)
