| - Another one of those restaurants that your friends outside of Montreal tell you you have to try. As an important tip, you MUST call and make a reservation in advance. They do not take walk-ins, even if it looks like there might be a few empty tables.
The warm, fresh bread and service were great, but it ends there. The restaurant smelled a bit stale, and their A/C was dripping. Their prices were expensive considering that it felt like a casual ambiance.
Between the 4 of us, we shared a bison tail appie (7/10, nothing special, tastes like ox tail); foie gras poutine (7/10, nice and rich gravy, but curds weren't the best and the foie gras was just sort of there); Duck in a Can (7.5/10, neat concept, nice flavours, too greasy); pied de cochon hot pot (7/10, decent, nothing special about flavours); a beef steak with pasta dish (5/10; way too much salt and wine!); maple creme brulee (6.5/10, too sweet and texture was like pudding); pecan tart with ice cream (7/10; standard tasting, crust was a bit overbaked).
In short, try it only if you're so curious, or if don't mind paying $$$ for salty food drenched in duck fat. ;)
