  • I had the pleasure of staying at the Chelsea during a random weekend trip with a couple of buddies (8/18-21/17). First off my review is of the customer service I received at the 1865 checkout desk. The rooms were nice and better than I expected based on some of the reviews. My issue was with the young lady (Giegie) who worked the 1865 desk when I checked out. I joined the hotel membership program (1865) the day before I checked out on the 21st. I was told that we had late checkout at 2pm because of the membership. On the 21st when checking out, I ran across the street to the tavern to grab a bite and came back to the hotel. I stopped by the 1865 desk to see if I could get an extra 10-15 mins to eat before checking out. First off I stood at the desk and was told by Giegie to "hold on a second" while she continued to have a 5 minute conversation with her coworker. After which I asked her if it was possible to get an additional 10-15 minutes in order to eat before checking out. She proceeded to tell me that was not possible and that the late checkout was "a priviledge and that they didn't have to do that for me." I was slightly annoyed at the fact that she's lecturing me on a perk offered by her program and then making me feel as if she's doing me a favor to allow me late check out when again its a PERK OF YOUR PROGRAM and one of the reasons I joined. I digress, as I walked away from the desk she proceeded to yell across the lobby that "if I was not out of the room by 2pm I would be charged an additional $75." At this point I was floored at her customer service. I politely went up to the room grabbed my things and went back down to check out...along with getting her name and managers name to complain. Again the hotel itself was nice however the customer service left alot to be desired and makes me question coming back to this hotel.
