Pretty irritated with the service I received today because I really liked this salon. I brought my 12 year old to get her nails done for the first time. I explained that this was her first time and we told them exactly what she wanted, a basic full-set which is $25.
While she was being serviced I went across the way to get a mani/pedi. My daughter finished up right before me and when I went to pay I was given a total well over what I expected. I asked for the charges to be itemized and was advised I was charged for a full set when I only got a fill, but because it was S&S they charge the same each time and also that my daughter's full set was $40 because she wanted gel. I'm sorry, what? She's 12 and a first timer, she doesn't even know what gel is, and since when is gel an up charge of $15 and not $5? I looked at my daughter and asked her is she asked the man for gel and she replied, "No I didn't even speak to him, but he did say that my nails were already dry and I didn't realize they could dry so fast."
That was some shady mess. Now her nails came out cute and I paid for what she received, but it's the principle. You do not trick customers like this. I shouldn't have to stay up under my daughter to protect her from fake up charges she should be able to relax which is the point of going to the salon.
I will not return, I feel that they in a way stole from me and I did not tip. The $15 up charge was tip enough. I will definitely spend my money else where in salons that don't have to result to bamboozling their customers to make a quick dollar.
