UPDATE: I called Owens and spoke with someone there and he gave me a full refund for this morning and would speak with the technician that they sent this morning. Due to the helpful customer service over the phone I am adding two stars back to the review of the original one star.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: My husband and I recently moved into a new house and the fireplace was not working. My husband tinkered around with it ultimately figuring out that the gas was just coming out too fast and knew that he had to call a professional to fix it. Owens came up first on google search so we called them. He explained the problem and they seemed to understand on the phone. We scheduled an appointment. When the service guy showed up at the house he looked like he was 18. I have never had a repair person work on my house with less confidence. He kept taking pictures on his phone and walking outside to talk to someone because he clearly had ZERO clue what the heck he was doing. He spent over TWO hours at our house before he said that we needed to call someone at the gas company and replace our entire log system. Then he said we owed 165$ for the cleaning of the log system that we were going to have to replace (idiotic) and for all the trouble shooting work he did to figure out what was going on. We paid him to get him out of our house. We then called another fire place repair company and they sent someone over the same day. Within 5 minutes the guy said the regulator was never attached and it was sitting right next to the gas line downstairs. He then fixed the problem and got the fireplace working within 30 minutes.
