  • I went into Pinnacle Nissan on a Saturday, with the intention of JUST LOOKING...I needed a new car, but Nissan wasn't even on my radar. So I popped in to see what their cars looked like and to see what the options were. Once my Husband and I parked we were greeted before we could even walk in the front door. Francisco approached us and asked us what we were looking for. I explained to him I needed a 4 door car because we have a baby on the way. He started showing me the different models of cars. I told him my main requirement was to find a 4 door car with XM satellite radio capabilities. I've had XM radio for about 10 years and it's not something I can live without. We end up liking the 2016 Altima. He even found the color I really liked. He told me it had XM radio already installed and handed me the XM radio brochure. Wanting to sleep on the deal, I told them I needed to think about it. Before we could leave he went and got the new car sales manager, Rick. Rick is your typical car salesman...Very fast talker, wants your business, wants to cut a deal...So he's fast talking us, and eventually I agreed to let him run my credit. He comes back with a deal, which wasn't bad, but I still wanted to take time and think about it...He leaves and then comes back with yet another deal, even better than the first...This time my payments were lower than my original car payment and the interest rate was a little lower too. I was even making money off of my trade-in. It was a really good deal! But I don't like to do things impulsively, so I said I would call him tomorrow with an answer. After leaving, I called later on that night after thinking about it and said it's a go! Let's do it. I go in the next day to do the paperwork and pick up the new car. Right before we start the paperwork Im looking over the new car and I don't see where you would access the XM radio. I asked the sales guy, how to access XM in this car?...He said he didnt think it had the capability.....UM WHAT!? Excuse me?!?! Francisco, the salesman from yesterday assured me it had XM!!!! He either flat out lied just to get the sale or just isn't good at his job...Wanted the sale so bad he didn't do any research on the car he was trying to sell me. I was frustrated and pissed off. Rick said he would have it installed for me after the sale free of charge...I said ok. Im not happy about this, but ok..Thinking it was going to be a simple system upgrade to incorporate XM into the menu. I go through with the sale...I drive my new car home. 4 days later I speak with Rick on the phone about setting up an appointment to have to XM radio installed. I ask him if it was going to be something that's built into the car system and he said no, it's an extra piece of equipment that hooks onto the front of your radio...WHAT?! A removable piece!? In a 2016 brand new car???? I DON'T THINK SO. I told him this is not what we agreed to! He tried to spin it to make it sound like a good thing, "oh well you can take it and put it in any car you own in the future"...No idiot...My car will ALWAYS have XM radio installed because I wont buy a car without it! So I don't need this janky extra piece you're trying to push on me!...The Altima was suppose to have it installed already, and if they couldn't make this happen, I wanted my old car back! Side note: Why is Nissan still making cars in 2016 that aren't satellite radio capable anyway??? Nissan dropped the ball on this one.... This is my 5th brand new car. I'm not new to this! But this was the WORST car buying experience by far! Long story short, because I was threatening to cancel this whole transaction, they ended up giving me the next trim level up without increase to my payments or interest rate. The least they could do since this was their mistake! So I basically got a better car, for the cheaper price. Im happy with the car, it's great! But the front office and buying experience was LESS THAN SUBPAR and they really need to reevaluate how they do business. This is what happens when you try to fast talk someone just to get the sale. You end up giving them a better car and eating the cost.
