How quickly a rude waitress can turn an experience.
I have heard about the Dorsey from other mixologists in town saying its a good atmosphere to take out of town guests for a more upscale/upbeat experience. This much was true, as entering the space it was decorated well with comfy seating and well thought out lighting and finishes. The music was good and played to the crowd and atmosphere although i could do without the terrible visuals on the TVs throughout the place. The cocktails themselves are a bit pricey but in Vegas you do pay for service, atmosphere, etc. As for being well thought out? The menu isn't bad but i don't see it being a true craft experience being only mildly creative. Having one drink only and parting ways i was on the fence about the place on if it would be somewhere i would return with guests instead of heading to the great view at Mandarin Bar. And then the waitress made my decision real easy with her incredibly rude demeanor. I had already asked for my bill, and had paid and signed the receipt. My drink had been cleared and i was sitting a moment taking in the atmosphere and like i said on the fence of "should i return"? And the waitress proceeds to come over and ask "is there anything else you need"? but with the expression and body language of will you get up and gtfo. The fake smile, and lack of real personality was simply disgusting to me. I knew there was good reason i spend most of my time in downtown or more local friendly and mindset locations...time to go back to that thought process and stay clear of the strip again. Meh.
