| - When it comes to cupcakes, I'm always on the look out for a cupcake shop pretty much anywhere I'm visiting. Just to give it a try and see what creative flavors they have to offer.
Las Vegas is known as THE place to "let go" and have fun, whether it's eating at buffets, clubbing it on the strip, or enjoying the fountains at the bellagio, Vegas pretty much has something for everyone. So for me, I was looking for a well made cupcake in which the price reflected its deliciousness.
Located in the beautiful Monte Carlo, this little shop is just beyond the food court. My bf and I were starving --- we were heading down the strip from the Mandalay and decided to stop in here for some food, and the cupcake shop I was eager to try.
The outside of the shop and inside definitely make an impact. Its cheery sign and tiny table & chairs give it a "time for tea time" feel and it's pink and brown colors make it "cute" for the feminine side in you.
They showcase several flavors a day and all look really cute and delicious. On this day I chose the carrot cupcake with a cute bunny on the frosting and a chocolate mocha cupcake. The price was a bit hefty for the size of the cupcake-- about $3.25 I think. So I had high hopes!!
We sat down on the tiny tables and started on the sweet stuff, and boy WAS IT SWEET! Toothache sweet, so we were anxious for some bottled water to wash it all down. Both cupcakes tasted good, but the frosting was a bit too sweet for our taste buds and the size for the price was a bit on the expensive side. I suppose we expected more... in size and quality... I would have bought a dozen for the rest of the fam, but opted against it...since i'd be shelling out a couple of andrew jacksons for them...
It was a great place to try, yet it looks like I'm still on the hunt for a delectable--priced right-- cupcake in Las Vegas =) I know it's somewhere in the plethora or hotels and buffets!!
