We met a friend at Carson Kitchen on Saturday evening. The only challenge was finding the front door. The address is 124 S 6th street but the front door is actually on Carson Street.
At any rate once we found it the reception was excellent. It was a rainy evening so the upper patio was unavailable. We were seated at the bar where we could see the kitchen and the orders coming out so we had an opportunity to see the various dishes while we had a drink or two. Our waitress was excellent and the manager who was checking out the dishes was very nice. As we asked what things were he would tell us.
We started with a couple of appetizers. The spicy shrimp was tasty and the gyro tacos were very good. We then had some Mac and cheese, Cuban pork belly sandwich, and some pan seared chicken thighs. It should be noted that the tots that came with the Cuban are extraordinary. My girlfriend is a self avowed tot expert and she gave them a thumbs up.
The best thing about our experience was that the Sou chef was willing to share the recipes and ingredients with us. The other chefs chimed in to make it an intimate experience.
I highly recommend this establishment
Thank you to the entire staff for making it a great experience.
