| - I surprisingly loved the Four Queens! At first I chose it because it was cheap and no resort fees. Then I was worried about what I just booked. But I made sure I requested for the South Tower (renovated rooms) and because I had 3 kids with me I wanted more room so I asked to be upgraded to a suite, the front desk guy w as really helpful and patient (Jace was his name) and found one in the south tower and I paid $80 more. Honestly only paid about $180 per night for their nicest suite and it was really worth it. I mean you get a small hotel room on the strip for maybe $200 on a weekend night. But this room was huge, had a wet bar, fridge, micro, big screen tv, couch pull out queen bed and one of the best bathrooms I've seen in all of downtown. It's perfect for a family with kids. Beds and couches were comfortable, clean, no funky smells, everything drained and flushed nicely. No problems what so ever in the rooms.
Now on to the casino, yea it's a little dated, but they have a good variety of old and new slots. What I loved is that next to the south tower elevator was a 24hr subway/pizza/ice cream eatery. Perfect for the kids and late night munchies. The magnolia restaurant was also good, big portions, pretty quick service. The rewards center people are super helpful and friendly too. I didn't try the tables but it looked packed which is good. Sportsbook is pretty non-existent but they had the games playing on every tv in the casino anyway.
All in all, was a great stay! If I ever want to stay downtown I'm booking it here for sure. Just follow these tips, stay in the south tower, get a players card so when you check-in parking is free, upgrade to a suite if you can afford it, use your players card to earn points for 2for1 coupon and senior discounts at the restaurants. I guarantee you'll love it there!
