just went there (Sept 6).. (on the sandwich side) waited 5 minutes in line - no problem .. my colleague ordered before me, and the lady wrote his order down with his specifications .. then the other man asked who's next and i said i'll have the roast beef sandwich combo please and he said it will just be a few minutes for the beef - no problem .. then my colleague spoke to the lady as he got another order from another colleague and asked for a roast beef sandwich too .. where she then made the roast beef sandwich in front of me .. hmm .. i thought didn't the guy just say it would be a few minutes for the beef ??? so i asked the lady is that roast beef and she said yes and i'll said i'll add my order to that (so we can all pay together and be done at the same time) and no mushrooms on my sandwich and she said didn't you order already with him? and i said yes i did but i wasn't sure if he was still taking care of me? -as he had moved on and was now helping someone else with their sandwich. And he piped in and said yes it will be a few minutes for the roast beef .. and i looked down at the sandwich (roast beef sandwich) the lady had just made and thought ok maybe the guy didn't see that or i dunno so i let it go and continued to wait patiently as now both my colleagues had their sandwiches .. and we continued to wait for another 10 minutes.. as countless customers ordered after me and received their sandwiches and went on their way .. as i was watching all these sandwiches (various meats and garnishes) being made i was rather disgusted at how they process the sandwiches..
1) no gloves being used to prepare sandwiches (and no hand washing in between)
2) repeated wiping of hands on apron
3) wiping of hands on towel that was laid on the counter
4) wiping of various tongs (that were wet with meat juices) so the tongs could be used for something else, and with the same towel used to wipe their hands
5) trays of meat and garnish brought from the back (and touching who knows what) being placed on the same counter where sandwiches were being prepared
6) the fries mixing bowl being emptied into trash and the bowl being banged against the side of the garbage bin to get whatever else out and then being re-used right away for new fries - i love garbage bin remnants on my fries
sounds like a perfect recipe for food poisoning :) ..
finally the beef was ready and he started making several roast beef sandwiches and plopping the dripping beef on the sandwiches and adjusting it with his hands .. then continued to put mushrooms on all of them to which i piped in and said no mushrooms on mine (would have been helpful if he had written that down earlier) .. and he gave me an exasperated look and grabbed another bun and put new meat on it and then got the fries (also using bare hands to sprinkle herbs and salt on them)
finally it was ready after 15-20 minutes total process i thought this sandwich better be good .. and i as took my first bite the bun was ridiculously soggy so it half fell apart, the beef had large amounts of fat gristle, and way too much caramelized onions that added to the sogginess .. (i couldn't image how soggy it would be if the mushroom sauce was on it too) ... so the sandwich was a soggy fatty mess
all in all:
customer service was poor at best
food making process was inefficient and disgusting
sandwich was gross
and me and my colleagues will never go back
