  • Are you hungry? Need to get some real savory food on your belly? Want to spend your money at a family owned restaurant? Go to Mert's Heart and Soul. Save room for dessert too! We are visiting Charlotte and on the hunt for lunch downtown, yelpers you are the Best. You said this place was good and that's the truth. We ordered the red beans and rice, the lunch special, smoked pork chop, and the ribs appetizer. All were delicious. We had iced tea for our beverages and peach cobbler for dessert. Samantha took care of us and is an ambassador for the establishment. She suggested we return and I said Thanksgiving time. Well, she said the owner closes the place on Thanksgiving day to serve the homeless. Well I can only say this. I'm happy I had lunch there and if you try it I believe you will to.
