Yesterday I left my pug Lucy at the boarding services of Monroe Road Animal Hospital with plans to pick her up on Sunday.
Unfortunately, due to the GROSS NEGLIGENCE of that facility I will not be picking her up there on Sunday.
Despite my requests for her to be kept inside and not have playtime with other dogs (she had neck/back surgery about 10 months ago) someone at Monroe Road Animal Hospital Boarding not only let her outside, but left her there in the heat. The high today in Charlotte, NC was 99 degrees. Lucy suffered a heat stroke and is currently in ICU at a local emergency veterinary clinic.
No one should have been outside today. Not people and not dogs - especially not brachycephalic dogs such as pugs. Please keep Lucy the Pug in your thoughts and prayers. She needs all of the healing energy we can send her.
Please also pass this along so that Monroe Road Animal Hospital Boarding does not risk the life of another dog. Lucy deserved better - all animals do.
