| - I live in Vegas for 3 years and love the nightlife, but I've been to the marquee only once so i decided to go again after 2 years of not going. The party was ok, the music was good, but the thing that bothered me and probably the reason I won't go back is the BAR.
Made me feel cheated.
I order the same drink(vodka+redbul) 3 times on the course of the night.
-First time , relatively early, I was charged $15, which is completely understandable. I was alone
-second time, middle of the night, I approached the bar again, alone, the bartender charged me $18. I asked why is the difference, and she replied that "that's the price and I shouldn't lie. I explained to her that in my eyes the addition of $3 is her tip and I'm not gonna leave a single dollar.
-third time u approached the bar, this time with a female friend of mine, and ordered the same drink for both of us I was charged $20!!!!! It's an addition of 33% which is a lot of money. Same place same bar same bartender. I promise you that I didn't leave a tip.
Now, I have no problem with a bar that over price is drinks, completely understandable. But a bar that the price just goes up through the night or by the bartenders choice, that's a real scam. A place that respects itself should have fixed price list and not let it vary according to the bartender/client like kiosks selling! Absolutely unprofessional!
I call everyone to keep their receipts from the first drink of the night at the marquee and show it when you about to buy your second one cause you WILL be overcharged. Personally I'm not gonna tip a bartender that thinks of me for a ride and if more people will do like me eventually they will feel the change and stop doing it.
P.s if you really wanna "duck the system" outside of the marquee there's the "chandelier bar" that sale drinks in a fixed price that is cheaper than the marquee.
