First, my husband had a poor experience years ago with parts of his tattoo peeling off during the healing process. He has tons of tattoos and his skin has never pushed out pigment or healed like that before. We assumed it was an issue with the tattoo artist and not an accurate reflection of the shop as a whole. He had the tattoo touched up by someone else and it turned out adequate. Second, recently my friend was in town visiting and she insisted on going to Salt and Light bc she had read good reviews. We wanted to get small matching tattoos so I thought why not give them a try. The girl at the front was so nice and sweet over the phone and in person. However the tattoo artist seemed to go out of his way to be rude. He was annoyed with every question or comment we made. He said that he doesn't like doing such simple tattoos because his skills are better displayed on detailed pieces. He quoted a ridiculous price for our "simple " tattoos. And the whole vibe of the shop became so unwelcoming, negative and awkward. I told him these tattoos represent a positive and happy meaning so we will find a different place that will maintain an enjoyable environment. We went to Hot Rod tattoo and had an amazing experience. The tattoo artist was nice, patient and professional.
