| - Treated well first and mistreated badly later. I am giving this camera store for professionals and amateurs both a good and bad review. I was really glad to finally find a professional store that catered to both pros and advanced amateur photographers alike. Even though it was a small shop it had all the essential equipment to getting started as a pro digital photographer. Sergio, one of the employees took care of the needs of one of my students. I teach digital photography workshops and I assist my students in selecting the right equipment with the best quality that will meet
their budget. There I was able to get a flashmeter, a 6-in-one reflector, a bigger umbrella, and some lighting accessories for Maria. We must have spent almost $ 1000 in that camera shop that morning. This guy Sergio really knows his stuff but there was another tall,elderly salesman that Maria told me she didn't like as he wasn't friendly at all and we doubt if he really knows anything about photography.
To cut the story short, I had told Sergio to save the Westcott Tungsten lighting setup for my friend Maria and I will pick it up the next day. The next day I arrived to find out that Sergio forgot to debit the lighting kit and he also forgot to tell us that the bulbs don't come with it. It cost $ 107 extra.That day I promise Maria that I would pick up this cool lighting kit so I can teach her studio lighting. I arrived at the store to discover that Westcott lighting package wasn't paid for and now I had to ask to Maria to drive another 30 minutes to come and pay for the lighting package. Unfortunately, that day, the salesman we like Sergio wasn't there to help us. He was busy delivering his new baby. Congratulations Sergio. Also unfortunately, Maria forgot to bring his ID to verify that he owned the debit card. We told the other salespeople, we were here the day earlier and they
should have recognized us when we spent more than $ 900 on new gear. The other employees said sorry we can't allow this purchase. But Maria said hey I have a pin number and the money is good on the debit card ( not a credit card ). And we even should the invoice Maria had spent on expensive Dynalites from B & H Photo. Even the owner told us that he can't allow the purchase because of lack of ID. I even told their boss I would vouch for Maria's identity that she owns the card. So the way, Maria and I look at this situation is that Casey's Camera lost a valuable customer. Maria could have done this easily online and buy the same equipment from another company but she decided to try this small shop to support the local business. Its a debit card guys with a pin number that was use the day before and now they won't allow it. I just lost half a day of teaching
a studio lighting lesson to Maria because Casey's Camera won't sell us the gear. If your camera store won't go out of their way to help you get started in photography, then don't buy from them. We will never shop at Casey's Camera again. We will continue to buy at Amazon, Adorama, and B & H Photo.
