First impression, you walk in and can smell the fish immediately. It is not overpowering, but I have heard that even if it's a sushi or seafood restaurant, you should NOT be able to smell fish all around the dining area, however I am not an expert on that and it really did not bother me a great deal, I was there to eat fish anyway. Came for the Chilean Sea Bass, but they were out! At first I was pretty disappointed, but I ended up trying Rainbow Trout for the first time ever and I really liked it. As someone who is barely getting into eating fish, it was a great discovery to find that I don't always have to order THE MOST expensive type of fish every time I go to a seafood restaurant! We also got the bang bang shrimp since apparently it's the law to order it if you go here. It was good, not overly spicy. I wasn't blown away but it was worth trying.
Trout was great and had some nice char on it. Paired with the grilled lemon it was simple but tasty, which is how good food should be done. I got the whipped garlic mashed potato and steamed broccoli for sides. I did not care for the seasonings on the broccoli but it was mild enough that I finished them anyway. The mashed potatoes were good but almost too buttery (and I did NOT think that was ever even in the realm of possibility)
Overall good meal. Service was excellent!
