  • I have three tattoos from Jake and my husband also has three. After we found him, we haven't gotten tattooed by anyone else. The studio is great and I wouldn't hesitate to get a tattoo from anyone there, but Jake is, in my opinion, the best. The shop is clean and professional and each artist has enough space that you don't feel cramped while getting work done. They do consults by appointment, so you don't have the awkward traffic and lookie-loos some places get. Jake is my personal favorite (and my husband's) because he's an artist whose medium is tattooing: he doesn't just do tattoos, but he creates works of art. Each tattoo we've gotten has been an original drawn by Jake. Some times, we gave him reference material and other times just an idea. He has a real talent for making the shape and size of a tattoo fit the place you're getting it. He trained as an artist, so he draws some really great stuff. The first time Jake tattooed me, he suggested some color choices that I was nervous about, but I'm not that great with color, so I trusted him. I'm so glad I did! He's brilliant at choosing colors that will make aspects of your tattoo stand out, as well as blending colors together. I was a bit taken aback the first time I worked with him because I asked for something and he said he thought it was a bad idea and gave me his thoughts on what would be better. I'm used to artists who just do whatever you want, but he isn't shy about speaking up if he doesn't think it'll be a good result. I trusted him and I'm so glad I did. Each and every tattoo he's done has been phenomenal. After the first one, I really just gave him my ideas and let him do his thing and they're all great. He's absolutely brilliant at what he does!
