I love Thai food, and I thought that I had found some of the best in the country at Lotus of Siam on Sahara. Then I discovered Chada, and it blew me away. It currently will sit at the top of my Thai list for the US, and I live on a Thai avenue in NYC. The food here is phenomenal. And it isn't just me who thinks so. I took foodies from NYC and LA to dinner with me, and we all agreed that it was the best Thai we've ever had.
The chef came from Lotus, but here he moves beyond the traditional Thai offerings ... those are there on the menu too ... to more innovative Thai dishes. The restaurant is in a strange setting for visitors to Vegas who may not be too familiar with the Chinatown neighborhood. And I was still skeptical when I parked in the strip mall parking lot. But upon entering, I found a beautiful space and very friendly hosts and servers that created the perfect atmosphere for our group meal.
Everything we tried was phenomenal. The soup was the best I've ever had in a Thai restaurant, and it came in a large bowl for sharing. but I'll have to say that my panang curry duck was unbelievable. It consists of small chunks of duck fried in a batter then covered in delicious panang curry. All of the curry dishes were excellent. The brussel sprouts were awesome. The Pad Thai is just right.
The server picked a perfect wine for our table, and he was responsive and prompt throughout our experience. Kudos to Chada. I'm coming back and telling everyone they must go.
