  • I recently had family portraits taken here. We scheduled our appointment only one hour after they opened, and we still had to wait about 30 minutes. I walked in knowing EXACTLY what I wanted done, as not to waste my time, the photographer's time, and prevent my very young kids from getting cranky. I basically wanted to get in and get out. I knew what background I wanted and what poses. The photographer insisted that we do multiple backgrounds for variation, even after I flat out told her I am only purchasing the photos on this specific background. Needless to say, we wasted about 20 minutes forcing all 4 of my young kids to pose in front of ugly back drops, in lame, completely unnatural looking poses. By the time the photographer set us up on the back drop I requested, my kids were cranky and uncooperative. I hardly got any smiles out of them. I again told her what pose I wanted and she insisted on other ways before FINALLY doing what I asked. I am just not a fan of unnatural, corny poses, and that's what you have to deal with at places like this, apparently. When it was finally time to sit down at the computer to pick the pictures I wanted to purchase, I immediately said to delete all the pictures I told her I didn't want to do. What a waste of time...and I guarantee because of this it just delayed the next family's appointment even more. Going back to the portrait selection process... once I had the ones I wanted, my photographer got called away to shoot another family and someone else took over. With that switch, apparently my order didn't get saved right. I requested an 8x10 of each have child, and was assured that was ordered. I requested one photo be cropped to change the orientation from horizontal to vertical. I watched the first girl do it. But the order wasn't saved or something, because when we picked up the order it wasn't right. I noticed it 10 minutes after picking up my photos. I called the studio immediately and was told to come back in. I quickly dropped my family off at home and returned. When I came back and told them of their mistakes, they were not apologetic at all. Infact, I was told they were too busy to fix it and I would have to come back again in a few days. They printed the missing 8x10, but refused to crop the other photo and reprint vertical. I could not believe it! As I was up front talking to the employees, it was obvious they didn't care about my satisfaction as a customer. 3 people came up and all of them said it's not happening, not today. It wouldn't have taken more than 5 minutes to pull it up, crop and print. While standing there, a family walked in to check in and they were told there was a 2 hours wait, even with their appointment being scheduled. I heard them tell another family that had been waiting an hour aleady that 5 families were ahead of them. Everyone there seemed to be angry. I felt like my problem should have been resolved on the spot since it was their error! Now I have to go out of my way to return again?! It was so completely unprofessional. They said they were just too behind and busy to help me. I am unhappy with the time wasted on poses and backgrounds I didn't want in the first place. My advice, hire the professional photographer. Just do it. It's more personal, you get what you want, and you get the rights to the photos so you can print them yourself. Portrait Innovations wanted to charge me $300 for the disc. No way! I got stuck ordering way too many pictures, and add ons in order to get the best deal, now I'm stuck with all this stuff I don't need (gift tags and cards). If you do come here, book right when they open, or you're looking at a massive wait time. I gave 2 stars because the photos were decent and my photographer was very nice. But due to the lack of organization, and poor customer service by the staff, I won't be returning.
