I have been a customer at this location from their opening day. I have always enjoyed coming here and shopping, because of the friendly employees and the good quality of the products.
That was until about 2 years ago when I found some of the nuts in the bins to be rancid.
The more oily varieties, macadamia, walnut, filberts (hazelnut) are the ones that I use most often, so it is these main point of complaint .
I have spoken to several different managers, the people in charge if this particular area, and to different people who do the stocking of the various nuts.
In the last 2 years nothing has changed, these nuts are still rancid. I did find at one time that some how some one had put fresh macadamia nuts in the bin but the were sorted in with the rancid ones.
I had to contact a friend in Oregon to have them send me the nuts that I needed for my baking.
It is very easy to tell the rancid ones from fresh ones, by opening the bin lid and sniffing the air coming out of the bin. Or by taking a nut or two out of the bin and tasting them. A person that doesn't have complete loss of their olfactory sense can easily tell the difference.
