I have had Cox TV service since 1985, internet and phone probably around 15 years. But the last 4 years my TV was covered by my HOA. They cancelled effective mid sept .I get a letter from Cox saying that I will be billed an additional $70 a month since HOA cancelled. I call telling them that I do not wish to continue TV service. The next month I get a bill charging me for this which I immediately called and had the charges removed.
Their phone support is a joke. How many times have I been told by their employees that they have to reset my modem and they will call me back as soon as it comes back up. Usually I end up having to call them back. The last time the girl said she would call me in 5 min.I waited 30min and never heard from her again. I call and get some guy who I told I needed to talk with this girl. He transfers me to another guy who transfers me once again. I finally get to talk with supervisor. He tells me that the girl I first spoke with had gone home right after she spoke with me. He agreed to credit my bill for $20 for the hassell.
But what can you do? Only cable internet service in town. I was thinking about getting Century Link and called them. I never committed but they jumped the and sent me my modem a few days later which I imediately returned. Then 2 months later they threaten to turn off my service for nonpayment. I call and tell them I never did have their service and they still insisted to turn it off.
I now have a Roku and watch only TV on demand. Will never go back to cable TV.
Just hope Cox comes out with a special low cost offer in Jan as my current offer for internet is discounted 30% and I will have to get another discount so I can keep my internet service.
