I stopped in here on Sunday for brunch with my wife and her family who was in from out of town. We arrived around 10:30 A.M. and it was PACKED! The half hour wait was very reasonable granted that the line to get a table was out the door and would stay this way for the next hour and a half that we were there. It was easy to see why they are this popular; The servers are quick and friendly and the food is reasonable and delicious!
This old style diner reminds me of Pamela's and instead of focusing on excellent Crepes the Dor-Stop has found their niche with pancakes and home fries! The pancakes are wonderfully light and fluffy. I tried some of the banana chocolate chip ones and they were incredible! For myself I ordered the All America which included a tasty burger, scrambled eggs, and home fries. Would highly recommend the pancakes, but next time I'm here I would like to try an omelet or jumbot.
Be prepared to wait for a table here on weekends for brunch... but it's well worth the wait! Don't be afraid to try the daily specials as I heard several people around me commenting on how excellent they were. If you want to avoid going to the strip district for a wonderful brunch, this is the place to get it! I wish the north hills of Pittsburgh had something as good as this around!
