I usually make it a point to never order a cheese steak anywhere...except when I'm actually in Philadelphia. I mean, once you taste of the perfection that is a genuine steak sandwich (wit wiz) from Philly, you realize how far short everything else measures up. There's usually no point in bothering with any of the "authentic" "original" blah blah blah cheese steak travesties that are dished up anywhere west of the Appalachians. Seriously. Well, that was until today. I finally found a place that got it right. This is as close as it gets to the real thing (close, not exact). And how I was delighted to fill my belly with its meaty cheesy goodness! Mmm!
I ordered the Regular sized Philly Original (exactly like I order it back in Philly actually). It's got meat, grilled onions, and cheese wiz; that's it! That's all that's supposed to be on there as far as I'm concerned. It was all cooked to perfection too. The bun was almost perfect--something about the texture was slightly off from the real deal, but it was still the best you're gonna get around here. I ordered fries with my sandwich too. They tasted like they were double fried (and I mean that as a good thing) because they were extra crispy. Overall, I left full and satisfied. I'll be back. Bravo to Forefathers! Keep up the good work!
