I stayed here for a wedding recently. They had a room block for the wedding. The wedding started at 4, same time as hotel check in. Naturally we asked about early check-in. We inquired again the morning of while we were getting ready for the wedding in the bride's room.
Their hotel room policies are 1,000% ridiculous. Instead of prioritizing the WEDDING BLOCK rooms for early check in when we made these reservations months ago, they told us early check in is first come first serve and you have to first show up in person (can't even call from literally upstairs lol) and then put your name on the list. At 10 am we were #20. Just two weeks previously we had a swanky hotel room elsewhere in Scottsdale and the early check in was a breeze, we got the room keys at 10 am no problem. There was a genuine welcoming vibe at that hotel, too. Here all who greet you are bitchy monotone hotel clerks. The hotel check-in desk is small and hidden and only has 3 concierges so of course the line was long, because why would anything be customer-centric or easy here? But at least it is also a long ass walk from both the hotel rooms and the parking garage (if you don't want your keys commandeered by the valet).
We finally got the check-in-early notification at 1. We had to leave for the wedding venue at 130, so we made the mad dash which I didn't appreciate given our strict time table. Weddings are stressful already but this hotel did nothing to make any of this any easier. The most hilarious part was the fact that no one's rooms were near anyone else's. They said they couldn't guarantee that, wedding block or not. LOL what is the point of doing a room block at all then?!?!?
The room was clean and nice. There were no blackout curtains so the crappy shutters let the sun in at 8 am which wasn't ideal after a late night for the wedding.
There is now a hold for extra money on my credit card for some reason that I was told will supposedly drop off. Just another annoying thing to add to my list of reasons I will never return to this hotel under any circumstances.
