| - This Thai spot has got to be one of the best Thai restaurants I've ever experienced in my life. Of course, I've never traveled to Thailand, and am as white as a person can be without being a ghost. But I know what I like!
Weera Thai was a whole new experience on Thai food, and this started as soon as I stepped in the restaurant. (The outside signage doesn't exactly capture the magical atmosphere of inside.) The decor was plentiful, bright, and detailed. I recall reddish papered or textured walls and lots of statues/figurines. I assume it was a (super successful) aim at engulfing customers in Thai culture.
The environment was obviously stellar, but the food was 10x more so! I ordered the Pad Thai as I am not usually fond of Thai curries due to coconut after tastes. (And who doesn't love fried noodles?) Now, I am accustomed to Pad Thai dishes having strong spices/flavors, but this was like tingles-your-tongue-with-every-bite type of deliciousness. And I love how they used thicker rice noodles rather than the thin ones that most Thai restaurants go with for this dish. A different texture worked great in this case. Also, the balance of toppings (tofu, veggies, etc.) to the carb base (noodles) was spot-on.
Our server was also super sweet and accommodating. I definitely want to go back to this restaurant the next time we find ourselves in Las Vegas.
