| - I only took my flat-coated retriever once but I loved this shop for a variety of reasons and will save the best for last:
1. Love that my pet isn't in a cage for HOURS. They called me not even 90 minutes after I dropped him off. It was so fast, the poor thing actually had to wait until I was finished running the errands I had planned (every other time, for the past 2 years of his life, it's been at least 3 hours!)
2. Love the feel of the shop: everything is open, you can see all the dogs, it's cute, you can see all the people (so much better than when they "take them in the back")
3. Super friendly staff
4. Now here's the reason why I LOVE this shop: when I dropped off my pet, and he had the first appointment of the day, another woman walked in to drop off her pet. When the staff asked for the dog's name, they checked the calendar, and the dog wasn't on there. This other woman - who was, I guess in her 60s or 70s - wind up breaking down crying and said, "I'm so sorry. It's me. I thought this was the place, but I don't know. My husband just died a week ago and he used to handle all the appointments and everything and I'm just so confused and I'm just trying to do everything and figure it all out and I miss him." The woman was sobbing. Naturally, I started crying too but the best part was the staff who not only comforted this woman, but took her dog and told her not to worry and that they would fit the dog in and call her back soon.
I think of that moment a lot because it's rare to find people with that type of compassion. Even if the prices weren't so good (they are), I would bring my dog here forevermore.
