I've been eating at Aloha specialties for more than 15 years. Always try to stop by when I'm in town. They do have excellent food but the service has definitely fallen off.
I dropped in on a recent Thursday for lunch. 6/28/12 to be exact. I expected the usual good food and fast service. I was really disappointed. I ordered a plate lunch to go. I took my receipt and sat down to wait. I never left my seat right in front of the counter. The cashier(younger lady) that took my order began eating her lunch right after I ordered from her. No biggie. I waited and waited and waited. I started to notice that several people that ordered 15-20 minutes after me were receiving their food in the dining room. No biggie. I continued to wait and after 35 minutes I walked up to the front and asked hey where's my plate lunch. A different(older lady) cashier looked at me like I was crazy. I noticed that there was a partially boxed up meal to go right on the counter. I asked is that mine? She looked at me again like I was crazy. The original cashier that was now finished with her lunch said "oh yeah, that's his order" WTF, WTF!! I've been waiting for my to go plate for like 40 minutes!! In disappointment I took my meal and walked out of the casino. When I opened it in my vehicle the entire meal was COLD, gravy was clumping up.
I know that Aloha specialties does well but you need to step up the service or fire some of your lazy employees. The entire time I was waiting the staff kept going on about what they were going to do later that day and so on and so on.
I realize that this review will not affect their business at all but if ownership is reading this just remember nothing lasts forever. You do have good food but your service is in the dumps. Hire some people that actually want to be there. Every one looked like they hated their jobs. There are a lot of people looking for jobs right now. I'm sure you can do better than the lunch staff you currently have.
Best of luck going forward.
