| - I was hoping for something better after reading all of the great reviews. I think that maybe I just didn't like the place, but I could see that many would. You are basically sitting next to another couple (some people don't mind this). The decor is cool though, modern take on Victorian era/whiskey bar...nice outdoor seating area..With a name like Meat and Potatoes I was expecting simple dishes done well comprised of...Meat and Potatoes! I ordered the chicken and Yukon gold potatoes..very one note taste, even though the chicken came with olives, potatoes, onions, fennel...all the extras didn't help dish. BF had the pot roast, which wasn't that good..again, very one note taste and bottled gravy taste. Mashed potatoes were just eh, ok at best.........the lobster mac and cheese, AGAIN one note taste, just a heavy cheese sauce (Velveeta like), way too much sauce to noodle ratio...wasn't bad, but not what I would hope for from this place. Even my cocktail tasted like it was made from a mix.. I ordered the peanut butter/banana cake...but it was just stale cake crumbles in a mason jar with peanut butter and cool whip-like substance on it...not that good. I dunno, maybe I'd give it another go.....Not horrible, but not that great either.
