| - I'm really picky about donuts. I'm not one of those people that enjoy any ol' donut and quite frankly, there are many that I just don't understand. Anyway, moving on to the delicious ones offered here. First, they're made to order and that's pretty much all you need to know. Why is it that simple? As donuts age, they just don't taste as good. Because they're fried. You know you've had this experience with other fried delicacies, i.e.: Fries. They're amazing when it's fresh, but it's not something you take home or look forward to eating again later. So, freshly-made donuts.. yay! The only downside is that glazes and toppings are placed on immediately, so it's like a melting snowman, but though not beautiful, they are very tasty. None of the pre-made options jumped out at me, so I was happy to create my own. I went with Vanilla Glaze with Sea Salt and Honey Glaze with Crumbled Bacon. Both were deeee-licious! Warm donuts with the perfect texture and great accompaniments. They were easily devoured.
There's a convenient order form with their combinations on one side and on the back, you can write in your choice of glaze and topping (just one each). There's room for three custom combinations with a quantity field, but I'm sure you can just fill out another form if necessary. Donuts are $1.79/each or $14.99 for a dozen.
P.S. The name does seem odd, but there's a story there. You can read all about it in the shop or here's the info posted on the company's FAQ page: "Fractured Prune Doughnuts is named after the spunky Prunella Shriek, known as "Fractured Prunella" for the broken bones she suffered competing in traditionally men's sports even into her 70s. Fractured Prune Doughnuts celebrates her legacy with a doughnut as individual as the person ordering it!"
