  • Terrible place to rent a car. Worst experience I have had in many decades of car rentals. Here's what happened. First, Ahmet called from Enterprise to confirm our car rental for the following day. He stated Noon pickup and I said that was correct. I got off the phone and my traveling partner told me we should make it later since we wouldn't be ready until 4 or 5. I called right back and spoke to Ahmet again and explained we needed it between 4 & 5 PM not Noon. He said it was not a problem and then asked if I would call back the next day to "confirm" the pickup time. I explained that I was CONFIRMING the time right now and would not be calling back again since we would be out. It sounded like he understood and corrected the time on the reservation. When we showed up at the Hyatt location to pick up our car, there were two other people waiting in line. Evidently, no one was around and had not been for nearly 40 minutes. We all started calling. Finally, someone answered and told us a Rep was on his way. This poor young man named Jesus got both barrels from all in line. He called the other location downtown to find a car because there were no cars available on site. Evidently, the woman in front of us got our car. He spoke with Ahmet and they sent a car that took another 30 minutes to arrive. They waived the added driver fee ($10) and gave us an upgrade to a Santa Fe. This was absolutely inexcusable when your only job is to make sure a car is ready, gassed up and operational on the time and day it was reserved. Strike three came when I noticed that Enterprise in CA is charging us (get ready for this nugget) $200 for the Drop Fee to return it to the Palm Springs airport location and another $185 in miscellaneous fees and taxes. WHAT??!! So that's $811 to rent a non luxury car for six days. EIGHT HUNDRED ELEVEN DOLLARS! I was flabbergasted. I asked the poor young man helping us about it and he said he could not do anything to remove or reduce the fees - he would have his manager call us and talk to us. UPDATE- Day six and still no call or email from the Manager, Garett Hahn. I called CA Palm Springs location to ask why they are charging us that $200 Drop Fee and they explained that the AZ Phoenix location is the one charging the fees, not them. Makes me even angrier that they lied right to my face about it. Awful experience. Will not use again. Like, ever. UPDATE FINAL: The manager finally called me and listened to what happened. He called his Manager and they waived the $200 fee. He apologized for the troubles and said he would look into what happened.
