Just experienced discrimination by this woman, for breastfeeding (fully covered) for the first time at LA Fitness. I was sitting on the gym carpet (because they have no chairs or benches) watching my husband play racquetball and the hair salon owner inside the gym, Fatima, starts yelling at me "you need to go somewhere else" "this is my business" over and over. Then her customer starts yelling at me which I thought was weird, until I realized it was her brother, now standing over me also yelling at me and saying "this is a business here, you dont sit outside her door and do that" then proceeded to get in my husbands face and start threatening him because he told him to back up from standing over me. She then storms up to the front desk and has the assistant manager come over and ask me, "ma'am do you normally breastfeed in public?"
I was pretty embarrassed and offended at this point. Not only was I completely covered with a jacket, nursing top and nursing cover over me and my baby, I wasn't blocking any part of the entrance to her salon. I'm so disappointed in the way some people are willing to treat others!
