| - I like Ramen Sora. I like how it's in it's own separate vicinity, which means they have their own parking lot, which also means no angry Asian lady ripping her hair apart trying to get a damn parking spot. I also like their miso broth, jam-packed with umami, and from what I know, most akin to my taste-buds.
Usually, my visits end with a good feeling in my mind, heart, and tummy, but I couldn't quite stomach that same feeling during my last two experiences.
Perhaps it was because I decided to try new bowls apart from my usual corn and butter bowl, but I ordered the deluxe bowl from one visit and the chashu bowl on another visit.
On my first visit, the service was just lacking greatly. Water wasn't served until 15 minutes into our seating and I doubt the waitress heard my order correctly because when I asked her why there wasn't butter on my ramen, she had a look as if she didn't know there was even supposed to be butter in the first place.
On my second visit, when I ordered the chashu ramen bowl, everything tasted great except for the star of the bowl itself! Usually Ramen Sora's chashu is almost creamy, if I say so myself. Like other reviewers quote, a "perfect ration between meat and fat." It's almost like it melts in your mouth. Two out of the three pieces in my bowl were just the opposite of tender, and left me giving them to my partner since he'll eat anything. Ruined my appetite.
Despite these two recent experiences, I still have to admit that Ramen Sora is good at what it's supposed to do, and that's to make a good bowl of ramen at a decent price and experience. I won't let these two blunders affect my rating as I know how good this shop can be when it really tries to, despite their obvious inconsistencies.
Next time, I'll just opt out of so much chashu, and stick to the same old one amazing piece that you get in every bowl.
