| - Amorino Gelato happened to be featured on yelplv's instagram that I followed just for my trip. I'm so glad that I came across their post for a special edition Valentine's Day gelato rose. It was only for a limited time and as luck would have it, I managed to get one before my trip ended - even if it wasn't on Valentine's...ah well.
Had a bit of a hard time finding it. We knew it was located in the Linq Promenade...but we kept walking around, passing each store. They should really consider putting up a map or directory there. It also started raining a little and it got super chilly and windy. So we went into the casino area to keep dry/warm and double checked the address on our phone. To our surprise, we were right next door to it...*facepalm* There was also a huge sign at the entrance. So if you need help finding Amorino, just exit the casino and it should be on the left. I think it's also in front of the Flamingo.
It was a Saturday at around 2pm and it wasn't that busy. Even though I knew what I wanted, I couldn't help but browse and look at the menu. Amorino showcased a variety of flavors for their gelatos and it all looked really good. They also had gelato macarons and different drinks! There was also options for crepes and waffles. Too bad that the Valentine's Day gelato rose came with pre-selected flavors, because I really wanted to get the coffee, tiramisu, hazelnut, and dulce de leche. My boyfriend doesn't like the taste of coffee nor hazelnut, but he mentioned that I could have gotten them substituted in for the Valentine's Day gelato rose. Only then it wouldn't look as nice, it would be all shades of brown LOL so I was like it's okay...and ended up getting the original flavors the rose came with.
The 'I Love You' Valentine's Cornetto had the option of coming in a cone or cup and you get to choose the size you want. It also came with a 'Valentine' macaron that had a heart on it, which I found so cute. I ended up getting a medium sized cone and the raspberry and vanilla flavors it came with (for a pretty red and white rose). For $10, this was a steal - not only because I never had gelato that tasted this good but it also came in a nice presentation. The raspberry was strong and tangy, but the vanilla helped to compliment and tone the raspberry flavor down. They went well together. The macaron was small, but so delicious and there was also a piece of yummy chocolate on top. This Valentine's rose was like a dessert to end our meal we just had at In-N-Out hehe.
I liked how they had a nice, comfy seating area with tables inside. It's perfect to just eat and talk/chill out afterwards. The service was awesome as well, Lucy was super helpful and friendly. After tasting how the raspberry and vanilla gelato was like, I kind of wished we had time to go back again to try the other flavors. If I ever go back to LV - I'll know where to go if I want gelato. I'm so happy that I got to enjoy this limited edition Valentine's Day gelato rose! It was a fun and memorable experience that I got to share with my boyfriend.
