On this trip to Vegas, my girlfriend and I decided to forego the expense of a hotel on the strip. We used some points and booked a room at the Embassy Suites.
The first thing we noticed is the friendliness of the staff. Despite checking in a half hour after the close of breakfast, the woman working at the front desk was nice enough to have coffee and muffins set aside for us. (Note that as this is a hotel geared toward business travelers, breakfast ends at 9am during the week.)
While relatively well maintained, the hotel decor is fairly drab and sterile. Our room similarly was clean, but a little dark and bland looking for my taste. With the separate living and sleeping areas, though, there was sufficient space.
The only real issue that I had with the room was the bathroom. There was no place to hang hand towels. The toilet paper holder was broken and left sitting on the counter. And, the shower/tub was in need of an upgrade: the shower floor was peeling and the sliding door railing was rusting.
