Color Me Mine has been on my radar for some time now. I have had intentions to visit this place for some time, but for some odd reason I never had a chance to do so. So imagine my surprise when I finally did get a chance to come here only to find out that they had moved from Squirrel Hill to East Liberty. D'oh.
As of right now, the East Liberty location looks like they are not open either. This is not the case, do not let the brown paper on the windows deter you. We cautiously approached the door and there is a sign on it that states they are open and if the door is locked all you need to do is knock and you will be able to get in.
This place is excellent when it's date night. It affords you a chance to chat and get to know your person more. Not sure why, but it felt like it was so easy to talk while painting some pottery. It was almost therapeutic.
The staff are over the top with how attentive they are. We were taken care of and shown everything we needed to know, even amongst all the chaos of setting up shop. We were told about color selection, how to paint, how many coats, brushes and tools. Everything you would expect to be told about pottery was told to you. The owner is a wonderful lady and one that is very informative and knowledgeable of not only pottery. Chatting with her was a nice added bonus for this shop.
Prices all depend on what pottery piece you choose. There is a flat studio fee of $9 for adults.
