I purchased a combination DVD & video tape player from the Goodwill store on Flamingo & Ft Apache. I was told if it didn't work it could be returned. I took it home, connected it into my home entertainment center, and watched a few DVDs with perfect video on my TV screen. But when I tried to play a video tape, the machine would not work. Two days later I took the machine back to Goodwill. I was told I couldn't get my money refunded but would receive a credit good for 30 days, This means I would have to purchase some additional merchandise that I probably wouldn't want, or lose my money. This sucks.
It is justified for a store to issue you credit when you return merchandise simply because you changed your mind about the purchase. But when you return a purchase that is defective, broken, etc, they are cheating you if they do not refund your purchase payment.
