  • ****UPDATE: despite my obvious discontent about that first day, the rest of my time at this gym has been great. Everyone has been courteous and the gym has a great active atmosphere. I had an appalling experience today because of some front desk douche who is either an idiot, an a**hole or both. I came in Sunday evening to renew my membership, there were 3 people total working out in there. empty gym, asked for the manager with whom i had dealt before, Corey, and was told he had moved on to another club. I then realized i had forgotten my debit card anyways, i offer to pay with cash, front desk guy said he needs debit to open a membership, so i made an appointment for 6 pm next day to renew my membership, the front desk guy told me it's cheaper next day anyways. Great. There i am, a past member, an obviously likely member with a membership appointment for next day in my gym clothes, and I ask if he minds it that i get 20 minutes in on the treadmill. He says " that's 15$" I say "dude come on, i am getting a membership tomorrow, you have an empty gym here" He says "I don't know you" wtf? why does he need to know me? what about common curtesy, customer service, good business practices? or even the fact that 24 hour fitness offers free passes ALL OVER the place, website, facebook, everywhere. I say "You're kididng me? you want to charge me half of what it will cost me to sign up for a month tomorrow, because you don't know me?" "Corporate rules" Does he mention anything about the free passes the gym so readily offers everywhere? NO. He has me turn around and go home in my work out clothes, denies me admittance. When i get home i wonder if they no longer offer the passes, which would make his assholeness more forgivable. Oh no they do. EVERYWHERE. So i print one out and drive my butt back to that stupid gym. He processes me. I work out. Final thought, he knew i had cash, because i offered to buy my membership with cash, did he want me to pay the 15$ so he could pocket it? Wouldn't be the first time I experienced theft at 24hr fitness. In Santa Monica,CA an employee stole my Iphone. I left it on a treadmill. called in, came back for it 20 minutes later, he said he had never heard of it, told me iphones get stolen aaaaaall the time, as i was walking out a guy in the parking lot told me he had found my phone and gave it to that very employee. When i walked back in and confronted him he made a big confused hustle, lied so ridiculously a baby could see that he was busted, finally gave me my phone back, like oh sorry i forgot it was IN my pocket. When i reported this, nothing happened, he continued to be gainfully employed there. 24hr fitness gyms are great, I actually love the gyms themselves, but i am not having much luck with the people they hire. And I never heard an apology, not that i am gunning for one, but if that buttwipe today just said "hey i forgot about these passes, my bad" I would have still been pissed, cus i drove around like an idiot wasting 45 minutes of my time, but i wouldn't be writing this review. But he had first tried to charge me 15$, when FREE trial admission is CORPORATE policy, turned me away, a real prospective member at the door of an empty gym, then saw me return with the said FREE pass and said NOTHING.
