It's been a minute since I've stayed here. I decided to go on a budget hotel this time around and this fit the billing. I had the M Life Rewards that knocked down the price of 2 nights here to the mid $30 range. As other Yelpers have reviewed, this place is in a remodel phase. It's obvious with all the closed off sections and the loud drilling going on. Upon walking in, I showed up early as my flight landed earlier then usual. There was a line leading to self check in kiosks and a line leading to the front desk. It was slightly confusing as it seemed the designated line overlapped both. I walked to the desk check in and got a funny vibe from two of the staff. None of them seemed to acknowledge my existence standing there. It seemed the lady working glanced up and looked back down. She seemed to mumble something to the guy who finally after a few seconds nodded at me to come forward. What bothered me about this interaction was the lady helped an elderly couple behind me and immmediately turned on the charm and smiles. So you're telling me you don't treat all customers the same way huh? Anyway...the guy was helpful and got me a room for early check in as one was ready. He pointed me to where the room was and gave me a tip about using the tram to get to the middle of the strip for free. Kudos to him. Can't say the same about the female working with him. As for the room, they gave me an updated version which isn't bad. But you can tell people have already broken the room in with some faded stains on the carpet. The bed and bathroom looked fairly modernized and theres a new Samsung TV in the room also. At the time of this review there appears to be a restaurant downstairs that's open, but I don't see any other options. Guessing the remodel is holding off any other eating options for now. The beauty of Vegas is there's always something to eat somewhere so that's not a biggie for me. I'm guessing once the remodel is done the Monte Carlo may be a better hotel. For now it's pretty standard and budget friendly.
