| - Do not come here with a groupon and expect to get the full value of your purchase. I bought a groupon for 20$, valued at $40 for a shellac manicure with optional design. The service and quality I received was nowhere near the full value of $40. I didn't even get a design per se. Just some sparkles. If you want to get your nails done well, do not come here with a Groupon. I have to say this salon was definitely not worth the drive.
I booked an appointment 2 weeks ago after buying the Groupon promo. I booked it for two people, and specifically remembered that I confirmed with her on the phone that it was for two people and that I was using a Groupon.
I got here for my appointment for 6:00pm, and was told that they thought my appointment was for 6:30pm. The cantonese speaking lady greeted us nicely and asked me to wait half an hour which I was fine with. Later, the lady wtih the birthmark on her face (only spoke mandarin) approached me and asked me to confirm where I was in her appointment book. I found my spot at the 6pm mark, and she told me that she only booked for one person, as it only had one telelphone number. Well no duh, I told her I booked the appointment for two people hence why there was only one phone number listed. Even on the appointment book, there was no number of persons listed by my phone number. She was making shit up to give me a hard time. So I told her again, I booked it for two people, and recounted the whole conversation to her. And then she tells me, "No, Sorry, only one". At this point it sounded like she was not going to do my sisters nails only mine. I wanted to leave the salon and get Groupon to refund me, but she had already collected my Groupon print out before I could make that decision. Afterwards, she tells me, she will do my sister's nails, after some of the other clients were done. I then tell her even if I booked two weeks prior? And she responded yes, this is a busy time. Wtf. There were several girls who came after us and were attended to before my sister was looked after. My sister was the very last person to have her nails done. I can tell the owner likes to bully Groupon users.
Talking to the birth mark faced lady before the appointment wasn't just bad, but when it got down to me getting my nails down, the lady was horrible in every step of the spa tratment. Firstly, the equipment used was not clean. Nail files were chalky white and were not cleaned before they were used on me. Also, the gel nail heat lamp was very dirty. She used the rough part of the buffer on my cuticles after these were cut. It felt like she was sanding down my already raw cuticles down even further. It hurt. The colour application was extremely stingy and cheap. It looked as if the shellac bottle I chose was near empty, and she was applying a very thin layer/dried up layer on my nails. She was moving extremely fast on each nail. Each nail did not get full coverage of shellac. She spent 30 minutes in total on me and my nails. Needless to say I did not tip her for the shoddy service. I paid the 2.50$ tax they asked of me and told them I was not happy with the service. Never coming back again.
