  • I had been wanting to do the High Roller since it opened. My friend and I went last night finally for the first time. We decided to do anytime rider tickets which were about $28 each from vegas.com. There are plenty of places to get discounted tickets, even online and not just through High Roller's website. This ticket allowed us to go at night. NOTE: This does not include the happy hour pod. That is about $47 on average. The pods with happy hour were shoving in tons of people you could hardly move it looked like. On the second level you can go to the bar and bathrooms before you board. You can buy drinks and bring them on. We bought a frozen strawberry drink for $9, which wasn't bad. They have beer and other options as well, as well as non-alcoholic drinks and popcorn. Our pod only had my friend and I, another group of four twenty-somethings/late teens, and then a family of four. So ten people, but there was plenty of room. There is a spot to sit down on both sides of the pods. The music was kinda cheesy playing and claimed it was from upcoming EDM artists, but I don't think that was the case. They had TVs showing your ETA of the ride as well how high you are. When you reach the top they do a little countdown which is neat. The view is AMAZING. Since it was nighttime around 9:30pm, everything on the strip was lit up. The 30 minutes was more like 28 minutes based off our timer on our TV, and it flew by fast. The pod was very smooth going up and down the wheel. The family on the pod had a kid that kept doing backflips and spinning which was super annoying. The pod is very smooth but a few times he made it shake. There should be some rules about that.... Overall it was a very fun time, got great pics, and great views. Go at night, it's worth it!
