| - On a random time-killing dessert adventure after having a fairly unsatisfactory dinner, we had came across this while searching for some "Dessert" on yelp. This had came up and was near by, so off we went to come to this location.
Located on the South side of flamingo between decatur and lindell, 2 units east of Yonaka, this new dessert establishment is quite the surprise. Korean owned and operated, a lot of their desserts are stated to be "Fresh" and "made daily" with the "freshest ingredients".
According to the waiter (possibly owner?), they had been open for about 1 week since grand opening, and 2 weeks prior for soft opening. Few tables along the size with bench and chair seats as well as a bar-stool seating in the front facing the outside, with a costco sized teddy bear, for your accompanyment if you are alone. LOL.
While we were on yelp previously, their snow ice was the one that caught our eye as my friends and I have been missing Sulbing in Seoul, Korea for their yummy korean snow ice.
We had ordered a strawberry snow ice to share among us 4 as the menu and waiter states it feeds 3-4 people. Besides strawberry, i wanted to try their "traditional one". But when i looked on the menu... i couldnt find it ! traditional korean snow ice is normally topped with roasted soybean powder and mochi, as well as some other toppings. Per the waiter's statement, he stated that to satisfy the "american" taste, the "traditional" they offer is the "PBit Snow Ice" which is a mix of 50% injeolmi powder (roasted soybean powder) and 50% peanut powder. You CAN request to have 100% of either powder as well. (totally trying this in the future)
The waiter had specifically mentioned the machine they use for snow ice was directly from Korea and not available in California or Vegas. He ensured us the "blocks" he used is frozen 100% milk. When the machine was operating, it looked like snow.. Didn't come out too fast like you may have seen for like hawaiian shaved ice but actually looked like snow xD
When our snow ice came, wao it was big. (thats what.. nvm) xD Big wooden bowl with a mountain of freshly shaved snow ice topped with strawberries drizzled with a strawberry sweet condensed milk-like sauce, strawberry gelato scoop, and mochi. The snow ice "granules?" (for the lack of a better word i can think of right now) were larger than i expected but they still almost instantly melt in your mouth. The size looks more coarse than what i had experienced in Korea at Sulbing but flavor was good. My friend had mentioned probably two reasons. One would probably be so it wont melt as fast, working coincidedly with the wooden bowl. Some places pile on the snow ice which results in a less than flavorful experience later on but paying attention to detail, they drizzle in the same strawberry sauce while the snow ice is being made as well :)
Overall, a pretty good experience. Price is a little high but the size makes up for the price. Definitely good size for 3-4 people. Even for us piggies.
I noticed along the bench seats, there are power plugs under the seats for those who like to work or charge their electronics :) Not sure if they have Wi-Fi though.
