| - True, the hair cuts are hit or miss here. Whenever we get cuts, it really depends on the stylist. I have 3 sons who all get the same haircut. I give the same instructions for all 3 and they usually come back with 3 similar, but distinctly different haircuts. They usually put a pomade in their hair to flatten it all down so it looks smooth. The next day I can see all of the uneven bits that I have to go back and fix.
BUT! We do keep coming back! Why? They can schedule all 3 of my boys at once which cuts down on how much time we have to devote to the task; and, my kids love it! My 2, 4 & 6 year olds all love this place. They are excited to get haircuts. No more crying in the chair or freaking out. They pick their DVD or video game, sit in the car chair or fancy "big boy" seat and get a trim. They leave with a balloon, lolli pop and a smile! Do I spend $75 (after tip) to get their haircut? Yes. That is why I wait so long between cuts. Do they do a spectacular job on their hair? No. But, they look presentable and its tear free, so we will keep returning to Sharkeys.
My one real complaint: Im unhappy with the recent policy change of earning a free cut. It used to be the 10th cut is free. So every 4th visit, I would get a free hair cut for somebody. Cool. Now, its every 10th haircut per kid. So, we have to go 10x before we get the free cuts. They don't get their hair cut every month. It will be years before I earn a free hair cut. Not a real draw.
