  • This hostel seemed good for more private travellers. The rooms are smaller (but your personal space is also quite small), your room has it own separate bathroom, and you can go about your own thing with minimal interaction with others. The hostel seemed fairly new and like many of the hostels in Montreal, it had a pretty decent downtown location. It wasn't particularly close to any of the Metro lines but there were nearby buses and it was next to Center Bell. Some amenities include: laundry facilities, in-room, A/C, and free wifi access. Linens were free but towels weren't. The kitchen was clean and you could make your own free breakfast. The cost was cheap, $22 after taxes without their membership card. A good place for a clean, cheap bed where you want to do your own thing with little interaction with other travellers. The main HI hostel on Rue Mackay seems more conducive to interacting with other travellers (they've got larger communal areas, have a cafe/bar, and offer rental bikes). The biggest drawback for me was that the room I was in was next to St. Antoine street and the traffic was very loud, making it difficult to sleep or even be in the room to relax.
