| - I've always wanted to stay at this hotel after visiting Las Vegas 8 times... my 9th time was this past weekend and I stayed at the Flamingo. I was a bit apprehensive after booking and THEN reading Yelp reviews...there seems to be a black & white feeling about this place, no grey area at all. Love it or hate it... I will summarize what I loved and hated about this place.
Love!
We got in around noon, and I knew check in was at 4. I called in advance and asked what the early check in process was. I was told it depended on the day, situation, etc. basically, you won't know till you get there. We stood in a short line and Jamison waited on us... he is THE MAN!!!! Seriously... after asking about upgrades and early check in, we were able to check into an upgraded room on the 28th floor with a strip view for $20 more a night along with a coffee maker and fridge as well. So Happy!
The location is ideal if you don't plan on spending much time in your room.
As time went on...
Hate....
Ok, the elevators... I had no idea what to expect after reading about the problematic nightmares till I experienced this myself. Also, I might add this was EDC weekend which only added to the nightmare. Having a top floor room was amazing....the ride up or down to it, not so much!!! This elevator would stop on floors with no one there, the doors would remain open, or closed... just ridiculous! Plus, I don't think they were all working. I'm referring to the Habitat Doors. I'm not sure if the Spa Elevators had the same problem.
After spending the night, the next day our room was never cleaned. We noticed that the cleaning people were still on our floor, yet no one cleaned our room. We called housekeeping and they assured us it would be clean. Nope... and that meant a shortage for three of us to share towels for two.
Be prepared for Wyndham time share people to corner you everywhere...they are by the elevators and the check in desk - just ignore them and keep walking, they are VERY annoying!!! I don't recall getting bothered by these types at any other hotel I stayed at.
If you want a seat at the 21 & over Go Pool, be sure to stand in line well before 9am...by 9:15 there is a long line and NO seats in the place. There is a nice money making thing going on in here where there are less chairs and more day beds to rent for $100/day plus you need to spend at least $50 there on drinks. Needless to say we spent time at the FREE Family pool with plenty of seats and no line to get in. Also keep in mind it was this way during the week, I can't imagine what the weekend would be like.
I haven't sorted through our final bill yet, but I will say the resort fee here is a joke too.
I like to stay at different places when I go to Vegas so I probably won't stay here again.
